30 Days in Advance:
Send or deliver a written notice to vacate to Landlord at least 20 days prior to the last day of the month you want to move out. We do not pro rate the rent for early move out, so if you move out prior to the last day of the month, you will still owe for the entire month. Include your forwarding address in your notice to Landlord.
Schedule your move out inspection with Landlord on or before the last day of the month.
Review your move-in Property Condition Report (a part of your original lease document) to determine what you need to do to return the property in the same condition at move out.
You may request a pre-move out inspection. This will let you know exactly what you need to do in advance to receive an entire refund of your security deposit.

20 Days in Advance:
Clean house. Have a garage sale or donate unwanted items.
Pack seldom used belongings now to make moving day easier.
Reserve a moving van well in advance of moving day.
Contact your insurance agent to revise your renters insurance.
Submit a change of address form to the Post Office,
Contact your children's schools and arrange transfers.
Schedule carpet cleaning
Contact your utility companies and make arrangements to have them switched effective on your move-out date.

14 Days in Advance of Moving:
Perform any yard work or exterior maintenance.

7 Days in Advance:
Call Landlord and confirm your move-out inspection day and time.
Confirm all reservations (moving van, carpet cleaners, utilities, etc.)
Pack.
Thoroughly clean.
Move-out inspection.
